Week 10 – Case studies exploring trends and outputs of influential studios

This week we studied more about the concept of the designer as maker. We examined a number of selected works that engage with observation and an individual’s understanding of the world around them.

Lecture with Craig Oldham

This is such a great movie – I am surprised I never had herd of it before. So, the sunglasses are the medium that we see through the true – not only the aliens but also the real motives of the advertisements (well, things are not so different today either – unfortunately). The point is that the ones able to see have to act. Somebody has to fight, somebody has to stop the bad people and everything bad around us and save the world.

Week 10: Shop

Your personal research tasks are for deeper critical reflection and demonstration of your thinking and working processes.

These are the research tasks for this week, please share your findings on the ideas wall and on your blog:

  1. Research examples of designers as authors and makers.
  2. Research how designers as makers publicise their activities and the most effective platforms that they use to share their work.

Work on a projects

I just finished one of the pdfs for project2 – mine is going to have couple parts (the different inspirations that I recommend)

I finish with project 2 – there is so much I want to add to it – this is big and important topic – how we get our inspiration can influence the outcome of the design we make.

I will put link for the whole folder with all the files:

These are all the files in the folder – there are 5 books – I included the InDesign files, the pdfs, the epubs and screenshot of the first page – I will need that for project 3)
