Week 12 – Developing ideas and Designs for Launch of Authorial Artefact

Launches and Promotion

“A lot of the time it’s about finding an agency. I think Zetteler are a really good example of that, who are situated very clearly in the creative industries and the type of clients that they want to work with. I think they were set up in 2012 by Sabine Zetteler. They’re London based. They describe themselves as an international communications agency specialising in innovation, design, architecture, art, technology and the creative sector.”

Week 12: Shop

Your personal research tasks are for deeper critical reflection and demonstration of your thinking and working processes.

These are the research tasks for this week, please share your findings on the ideas wall and on your blog:

  1. Arrange a breakout reflection session with no more than five of your peers.
  2. Present your work from this study block and discuss how you feel it came together.
  3. Speak about the positive aspects of what you produced and what you might do differently next time.
  4. Take detailed notes of your discussion

“A PR agency can help you stretch your communication and put it in a lot of different directions… a good PR agency also, as a service, will analyse your business and will look for those opportunities to position you, as their client, and your brand, and create a positive story around it.”

“I think it would be really great to take a look at New York Public Library’s Insta Novels projects. Really cool one this.”

“I think it’s always good to be aware of how much time that you’re investing in Instagram and trying to find some means of measuring whether the returns that you’re getting justify the time that you’re putting in. But in terms of mastering it, the most important thing is quality of content. I think if your content is high quality, the other thing that, certainly from my experience, makes a big difference, is consistency. Consistency is very well rewarded across the platform algorithmically and just in terms of audience interaction.”

“Also be sure to follow and comment on other people’s content because that increases engagement in yours like almost nothing else, it really does. Even if it’s dropping a like here and a like there, a quick comment, the one hundred emoji, go for it. It is very useful, very effective…

Find writers whose work you admire. Find people who,you either really love their style or if they do op eds, share a few points of view with. People that you think you can build a really healthy working relationship.”

“Advertising adds value to a product by changing our perception, rather than the product itself. Rory Sutherland makes the daring assertion that a change in perceived value can be just as satisfying as what we consider real value — and his conclusion has interesting consequences for how we look at life.”
